Training Pastors International
Activities of the Organization
Description
Training Pastors International is an interdenominational training ministry focused on training national pastors in Bible and theology, expository preaching, prayer and worship, evangelism and discipleship, church planting, leadership development, pastoral ministries, and missionary outreach. The mission strategy of TPI involves the mandate to work with the national church of every country that the Lord opens up to accomplish the following three goals (the main priority of TPI will be placed on accomplishing the third goal):
The Gospel for every person
A Church for every people
A Trained Pastoral Leader for every church
Philosophy
The philosophy of training of TPI involves going to strategic locations in countries around the world with the purpose of establishing ministry training centers for the equipping of international pastors. These centers would become teaching stations for pastors to get a basic training course for the pastorate and further training as well. TPI would provide short-term training institutes (1 week to 10 days) at these training centers as well as long-term training modules (1 to 3 years). The initial phase will involve the training of key leaders who will head up these training centers in their own country. Furthermore, the development of the training programs at these centers will involve an ongoing process of direction and oversight by John Balmer and the TPI national teams that could take years to develop the infrastructure in each country. The main purpose of each training center would be to train as many pastors non-formally as possible in that country with the ultimate goal that every church would have a trained pastoral leader.
TPI will also seek to locate and involve as many churches in the United States as possible that would be interested in helping to support these training centers financially and personally with their people who would like to get involved in short-term mission projects, and by sending their pastors to help train national pastors at these training centers. These U.S. pastors will help form the training team that will be utilized in training the national pastors in each country around the world through the institute program employed at each of the training centers.
The operation policy of Training Pastors International involves establishing John and Jennifer Balmer as the core leadership of the ministry, who will function as the initial two personnel of the corporation. John will function as the president and CEO of TPI and director of training for national pastors, recruiter of trainers, and relational support with US churches, while Jennifer will function as the Executive Administrator, which involves overseeing much of the administration of the ministry and keeping the books for the ministry. There will be additional personnel added to the ministry when the need for expansion becomes apparent as the ministry grows in the future. Eventually, there will be a need for a director of training centers and curriculum development and other administrative and training personnel. We also hope to have a director of development in the near future who will help us develop the resources for the total ministry of TPI. Each full-time and part-time personnel will be required to raise their full support in order to become a part of the training ministry of TPI.
All personnel will function under the supervision of a Board of Directors who will meet semi-annually to approve the major ministry directives and financial commitments of the ministry for each year. At least one member of the Board will be a financial advisor, who will function as the CPA for the ministry, to whom the Executive Administrator will report all financial matters and account for all ministry revenues and expenses. The financial accountability and ministry accountability reports will be presented to the Board for a yearly budget review and projections for budget approval for the following year.
There will also be a national director of TPI in each country where there are ministry training centers. This person will not be funded by TPI, but he will raise his support like all other training personnel of TPI in the future depending on the national context. Under his direct oversight will be all of the training center directors in that country, who may have other ministries initially, but will raise their support as the ministry grows depending on the national context. Each of these training center directors will function on the TPI National Training Committee in that country to assist the national director of TPI in the oversight and operation of these training centers. Each training center will also have a committee of interdenominational pastoral and civic leaders who will function as the administrative team to help establish the training center in that city. When the ministry expands to a much wider level, there will also be continent directors who will oversee all of the national directors of that continent. They will also raise their own resources for their support.
